Good Morning

February 20, 2011

Animoto.com is an online, award winning slideshow making site.  You get a free “Lite” account for making 30 second videos – which honesty, is often as long as you WANT to make them.  If you pay $5/month or $30 per year, you can have full-length slideshows and for $3 you can download it as a 420p mp4 video, $6 for 1020.

Check out this drag and drop example I made – literally drag and drop!  Good Morning.

Kelby Training free videos

April 18, 2009

picture-51If  you’ve ever seen Scott Kelby, Matt Kloskowski or Corey Baker or any of those NAPP gurus’ videos you know they’re really good.  If you’ve never seen them check them out.  They have a bunch of videos  for Photoshop (Cs3 and CS4), Photography (Joe McNally), Flash, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver and Photoshop Elements – from beginner to  advanced – all 3-8 min or so each.

Now the free part – you can view the first 3 videos for ALL of these topics and their 6-12 or so subtopics for free.  So go poke around – you won’t get it all but you will get a lot.  They’re very well done!  I like to use a headset – it goes in better when they’re talking d-i-r-e-c-t-l-y to my brain.

picture-61http://www.kelbytraining.com/player/index.html

Cost? They have a subscription program for like $199/yr.  augh.  As a NAPP member and with a special I got it for $159. When you figure a 6 hour workshop costs from $100 – $200, it’s a good spend.  I’m going to try really hard to watch most of them so I do like 45 min or an hour several times a week.  You’re welcome to come watch with me – I usually do it around 11:30 – midnite but I’d be happy to change my schedule for you 8-)  But really, if there’s  a set you’re very interested in, let me know and I’ll meet you….if I know you..and trust you…and it’s day time.  I don’t carry a lot of money you know.
